These heartland stores have a good mix of known and local names, and a unique character. For some offbeat shopping locations, Junction 8 (Bishan), Parkway Parade (East Coast), Tampines Mall (Tampines) and Northpoint (Yishun) offer a very different shopping experience from the downtown shopping malls. Older complexes like Bras Basah are good to while away a balmy afternoon. Bookshops are the main attraction here. The dingy Queenstown Shopping Centre is a good place for sporting goods!
