Singapore Shopping: Offbeat Shopping Locations

Apart from the commercial district shopping centers, it is also a good idea to delve into the heartlands of Singapore. These heartland stores have a good mix of known and local names, and a unique character.

For some offbeat shopping locations, Junction 8 (Bishan), Parkway Parade (East Coast), Tampines Mall (Tampines) and Northpoint (Yishun) offer a very different shopping experience from the downtown shopping malls.

Older complexes like Bras Basah are good to while away a balmy afternoon. Bookshops are the main attraction here.

The dingy Queenstown Shopping Centre is a good place for sporting goods!

Sometimes the warehouse sales of big brands will entice you to drive a long way, so you may as well catch some out of town scenery and pick up a few deals. For example the Picket and Rail (furniture) warehouse sale which is located in Mandai Estate!
